Lakers-Celtics in Game 3

With the series tied at 1-1, every team has a chance to go for the jugular in game 3. The momentum is back in the Celtics side after that game 2 win over the Lakers in the Staples Center. They will carry that momentum in their homecourt. The C's will try to win the next 3 games of the series at the TD Garden to capture their 2nd championship in the past 3 years. But to claim the title back, they must pass through a major obstacle against the person who wanted to get revenge, Kobe Bryant. Bryant will not anymore tolerate of what happened to him and his Lakers team in the 2008 NBA Finals where the Lakers were massacred by the same Boston team.

Defense would be the key in the series and the team with most contributions form the bench will be pivotal in the next games to come.

San Sebastian takes Game 1

The San Sebstian Golden Stags won over the defending champs San Beda Red Lions in an overtime double overtime thriller in Game 1 of the NCAA finals.. 72-68.. Putting away the repeated comebacks off the Red Lions.. the Stags found an antidote for every San Beda comeback, leaning on their rebounding power and key free throws made down the stretch. With the Red Lions trailing for the most part of the game and by 12 in t he first quarter, and 6 points in the final 2-minutes in the regulation, chipped in 6 straight points to tie the game 53 apiece and force overtime in an Rome De La Rosa jumper. In the first overtime the Bedans take the lead for good on Gamalinda' three pointer. From then on, the two teams exchange lead. In the dying seconds of the first overtime, the ball was in the hands of Borgie Hermida and made an spectacular shot with 6 seconds remaining in the game that tied the count once again and force a second overtime. The fad is the same as that of the first overtime, with the team exchanging leads, but the Stags salvage a 2point lead. With 24 seconds into the 2nd overtime, the ball was in the hands of Gargo Lanete and passed it off to the open Terona in the corner..only to miss the three pointer. Abueva rebounded the miss and was fouled..he cooly sinks the 2 free throws.. for a well deserved and comfortable 4-point lead..

Jimbo Aquino lead the way for the Stags once again but it is Calvin Abueva that is intrumental for the Stags, hauling down 23 rebounds, to go wiht his 11 points and thus, converting the all important free throws in the dying seconds of the 2nd overtime.
